Types of laser marking machines

Generally speaking, under the control of a computer, a laser marking machine creates controlled relative motion between the marked workpiece and the laser beam, allowing the laser beam to ablate the required symbols and patterns on the surface of the workpiece. Clearly, there are two methods for the laser marking machine to generate this relative motion: one is to fix the laser beam and move the workpiece; the other is to fix the workpiece and move the laser beam. For the former, a two-dimensional mechanical CNC (or computer-controlled) worktable is usually used to drag and mark the workpiece. The workpiece moves along a designed trajectory under the drive of the worktable. Under the ablation of the fixed laser beam, a permanent mark is left on the surface of the workpiece.

The marking method of this laser marking machine is called"Work Table". The biggest advantage of this marking machine method is that the Price is relatively low, but due to the limitations of the mechanical motion mechanism design, the marking speed is fast, but it is difficult to mark text and patterns, and it is impossible to mark photos. For the latter method, there are two common methods: two connected optical mirrors are used to deflect the laser beam.

The laser beam emitted by the laser hits the first mirror, refracting horizontally90°, and then hits the second mirror. The second mirror reflects the laser beam downward through a focusing lens, focusing on the surface of the workpiece. The lens is fixed on the second mirror. When the first mirror moves along the laser axis, it drives the second mirror, which moves along the reflected laser beam.

These two actions are controlled by a computer. The combination of these two movements is the trajectory required for marking patterns. This marking method is called"Drawing Ritual", because its working principle is similar to that of a pen plotter. During the marking process, the two mirrors carry the laser beam to make extensive movements, as if the laser beam is flying around, so it is also called"Flying Optical"Marking Machine.

Compared to"Work Table"laser marking machines, its motion mechanism is lighter and simpler. However, due to the continuous change of the optical path of the laser beam during the marking process, it is difficult to maintain the final spot quality on the workpiece surface. This type of laser marking machine is easy to perform large-scale marking without reducing the energy density of the laser spot, but it is difficult to mark fine patterns, and the marking speed is slow.

The laser beam is deflected and moves through the galvanometer scanner. The laser beam emitted by the laser is sequentially projected onto the first and second galvanometer scanners. They scan in the plane'sXandYdirections. Under the control of a computer, the laser beam is focused through a focusing lens and scans in the plane.

This marking method is called"Galvanometer Scanning Type", which has the advantages of fast trimming and fine marking. It can handle various exquisite character and pattern markings. However, due to the high cost of reading, it is difficult to expand the reading vision. However, due to the fast marking speed and fine marking, it has become the main product of laser marking machines.
